The seven-day Khammam Book Fair has gotten a lot of positive feedback from book enthusiasts who have been flocking to the fair in big numbers. Telangana Sahitya Akademi and Hyderabad Book Trust, in collaboration with Khammam Municipal Corporation, are hosting a book fair in Khammam from June 2 to 8, to commemorate Telangana Formation Day.

According to the book fair's coordinator, Atluri Venkata Ramana, there are 46 stalls with roughly 56, 000 volumes, including books on competitive exams for jobs tests as Groups, police constables and SIs, and others, which the State government recently notified, as well as other academic exams.

'There are also two kiosks dedicated to children's books, as well as a stall by Jana Vignana Vedika, which has set up a laboratory to demonstrate scientific tests in order to raise public awareness of incorrect ideas. Ramana told Telangana Today on Monday that an average of 3000 people attended the book fair, which is held at SR&BGNR College and is named after poet-writer Ravella Venkata Rama Rao.

Literary debates and cultural programmes, as well as book releases, reviews, and competitions for children, are held on a stage named after a poet named Jatasri. On Sunday, he said, a drawing competition for youngsters was held to commemorate World Environment Day. The majority of the visitors are students and unemployed youth who flock to the stalls to buy books on personal development and competitive exams. In Khammam, a book stall called 'Khammam Kalalu' has been put up with books written by local authors and poets.

The goal of the book fair is to encourage children to read more books. The cultural and literary events at the book fair have been overseen by the organising committee, which includes writers Prasen, IV Ramana Rao, Muvva Srinivas Rao, and Ravi Maruth, according to Ramana.
